BELIEVING IN KARMA

I always believe in doing good and good things will come.

In Chinese saying, 3 bad things happened, 6 good things are on the way.

Also, if we can be patient, bad times will go and we will enjoy good times.

Kinda cool that if we have positive thinking and lead to a happy life.

I read a small little karma book, and it's interesting. Let me share a little from the book:-

"When you perform virtuous deeds, you will receive good blessings;
When you commit evil acts, you will receive bad endings"

"Good seeds bear good fruits;
Bad seeds bear bad fruits;
This is the Law of Karmic Retribution"

Wow, I think these simple phrases make sense, and more interesting points coming as below:-

IF in this life, one does evil deeds and easily gets angry; if one often gets jealous or likes to scold people, in the next life, the karmic retribution will be rebirth with an ugly and crooked mouth (so let's stop being angry, smile always)

IF in this life one likes to fight, enjoys killing animals and destroying their homes, and is happy when someone he/she dislikes has passed away, in one's next life, the life-span will be short.

WHEN everyone knows of his evil deeds, or his notoriety is already well-known, we can prevent others and our friends from his evil doings by taking him as an example. By doing so, we are generating good blessings.

WHEN I am happy and contented, and everything good comes my way, I start to think: I am now very fortunate. This must be the karmic results of my good deeds in my past life. However, in this life, I shall continue to do charitable deeds... when one is happy and contented, it is the best time to do more good deeds and accumulate merits.

THERE was a farmer who used to piece of string to pull out a cow's tongue. Later in his life, he had 2 sons - all were mute. This is Karmic Retribution for being cruel to animals.

IN the past life, if we criticised and incriminated others, in this life we shall be born deaf, mute and dumb.

IN this life, one eats excessively and wastes food, in the next life one will suffer from hunger pants and throat problems - that's why I always finish my food, why waste...

IF in the past life or in this present life one has lived virtuously, committing no evil, one's coming generation will be blessed with virtuous children. Even if the parents of such children are uneducated, the children will be endowed with intelligence and graduate with flying colours.

WE have got to understand the needs to protect our body, not to hurt others nor speak harshly. When hatred arises in us, it will increase afflictions which will lead to bodily and mental unease.

THE reason why one is easily frightened in this life is because in one's past life, he/she had always used scary objects to threaten people.

IF in this life one steals and robs without shame, and has never practised sharing and giving...one's next life will suffer from poverty.

DO NOT simply pour hot water onto the ground. This is because many small insects (cause) live in the ground. This reckless action will harm their lives and moreover it will result in our having a short life (results).

IF in this life one indiscriminately criticises others, in the next life one will be reborn with disabilities in speech, and ulcers will often grow in the mouth.

A TRULY CHARITABLE person will perform charitable deeds without the thought of getting name or rewards. To expect name and rewards in doing charity is selfish. Such motives, in the name of charity, will only lead to demerits and creating future karmic afflictions.

BY cutting down and burning trees will result in having a short life or be separated from one's family. This is because insects and worms and the homes of birds are destroyed, thus resulted in their being separated from their families - I always reminded my boys not to step on the ants, I told them, "If you step on the ants, what if the ant's daddy mommy find them?" - sounds stupid, but just try to advise them not to kill lives :)

BY giving food to the birds (cause) and hoping for them not to look for worms to eat (effect), will lessen the birds opportunity to kill and indirectly will help us to accumulate merits - Mom and I always give bread to my kids to feed the pigeons, ohh lala.. Pigeons here we come!!!!!

THE chinese characters for prison consist of the characters for 'cow and dog'. Those who prevent the consumption of beef and dog meat will be exempted from being put into jails. In the animals kingdom, cows and dogs contributed and benefited the most to the human race.

THe reason why one is always mistakenly thrown into prison is because one's past life, one often put animals into cages - hahaha, this is a good one, I still remember when I was a kid, some 'kepoh' aunties watching people play mahjung, all being arrested (even those who are just watching) hahaha

IF in this life one indulges in scandalous gossips and lying, in the next life one will be reborn into a broken family and is always quarrelsome with one's spouse.

ALWAYS receiving charity from others is like diminishing one's own blessings. Realising this, an understanding person will always be happy and ready to give, and will not simply receive charity from others.

IF we must accept charity, it is merely to create affinity; after which, we can give away whatever we have received to others.

IN this life we are blessed with food and clothing. This is because of the good deed we have done in the past. To leave some cooked food or vegetable uneaten during each meal is to quickly diminish our good blessings - I had a female ex-colleague, last time when we went out for mixed-rice lunch, she alawys ate only half of the rice. I asked her, "If you can' t finish, you can ask the aunty to give less rice" - she didn't really do so... too bad lo...

GIVING charity is like depositing money into the bank. Receiving charity is like withdrawing money from the savings in the bank. Enjoying blessings is like taking out money from the bank and spending it.

A CHARITABLE FAMILY accumulates good merits; its descendants will definitely become prosperous. A family that does unwholesome deeds accumulates demerits,it's descendants will definately meet the unexpected calamities.

A person is good-looking but is looked-down upon; this is because in the past one had an accommodating heart and practised precepts, but had despised others.

WHY is it that some people are born with hare-lips? (I think we call it cleft lips) IT is because in the past they used hooks to fish, causing much hurt to the fish.

AT the moment I am healthy and seldom fall sick, this must be due to my past or perhaps because of certain compassionate deeds I have done in this life. In this life, I should be more caring and should prevent the killing of animals. When one is happy and contented, it is the best time to do more good deeds and accumulate merits.

IN past lives, we have planted good seeds (Causes), therefore in this life we reap the fruits (Effects) of our good actions: FREEDOM, PEACE & HAPPINESS!

THOSE who believe in "Cause & Effect" will never profit at the expense of others. They know that gaining at the expense of others will result in having to pay a high price later.

KEEP LOOKING... hahaha

Last time, I used to think that I had to find a 'father' for my children, so that I can give them a great life. Whenever I try to screen through guys who are after me, I always think, "Will he treat my boys good?"But one of my colleagues, she reminded me of something. Candy, have you ever thought of your own happiness? If you are happy, you will make sure that your children are happy. That does not mean finding a father for them will make you happy, right? She was absolutely right.

I believe, if the guy loves me, he will also take his time to get to know my family and eventually accept my children. Now, I no longer hope for a man, who can accept my children, at the very beginning stage. All I want to do is, I will make sure my kids are well taken care of, and lead a happy childhood with the great help from my mom.

I had a great childhood despite the limited time spent with my own father. He is a great person, but when my parent's marriage failed, I was being brought up happily and I enjoyed my childhood to the fullest.

Here comes a quick check-list that I have in mind (sounds a little selfish, but this is a blog ma, I can say whatever I wanted to say) wow, hahaha!

Keep on looking - - -

- non-smoker if possible, I don't feel like kissing a smoker (kau-meang-ar)
- I hope that he likes to exercise, not necessary to be a gym member or what, but at least, when I want to go for morning walk, he is into it!
- Someone who always mention about his family is wonderful, at least, I know his heart is not just himself, he thinks about others, but not all the time talk about his family, at least, he knows, he has a family who has been supportive, that's lovely

- brings me out to meet his family & friends, and don't feel 'shy' of my background (yes, I am divorced with 2 kids, does it mean that I am not a human? I don't choose to live a terrible marriage, but I have to admit that I make a decision which benefits my children and myself too)

- I will also bring him along to meet my friends, just be there, I am selective of making friends, and I know he will be happy that I am surrounded with good people too
- no one wants to be with a flirt, in real or online flirt. Just think, what if I also flirt all the time, would that be a great partner? Respect is the word :)

- be transparent, we both treat each other as 'feelings station' whereby we can share ups and downs without being shy
- talk to me like friends, no lies and no limitation to topics

- he cannot stop me from doing charity

- Romantic, not necessary with gifts, but at least during special occasions, we both know that we should be together. If there is any other invitation, just try to go together lo

- Weekly movie, can?
- Eat at least 3 breakfasts & 3 dinner together in a week (if it happens that he is not in KL, pls at least call once in every 2 days, to check if he's still alive) hahaha
- cook some meals, and eat together
- write small notes to say "I love you" - not everyday, just sometimes hahaha
- give surprises on birthdays, anniversaries, valentines, christmas, or any other special dates...

- say "I Love You" when we see each other, or when we want to hang up on the phone (if there is a chance to)
- Hold my hands whenever possible (I always see old couple, holding hands, they are so lovely)
- be daring to kiss me in public, if he is shy, on the cheeks at least! hahaha
- snap lots of pictures together ...

- Put a picture of me in his wallet, preferably 'our picture' and don't be shy to put our pictures in facebook, msn, skype, etc

- Plan for short holidays whenever possible, even a 2D 1N outstation trip is good enough (if he can afford, we can go for yearly travel)
- A small gift a month, as a remembrance. I don't mind if it's a RM 10 earrings
- And please, allow me to go dancing in clubs once in a while, I am not drinking, I just want to dance a little before I get older ...

Not sure if the above are too much to remember, I'll play my part to ensure that the relationship works too! CHEERS!

3-WORD WE SPEAK

We always say 3-word but just maybe we don't realise... I have nothing better to do, in 5mins I am able to come out with some 3-word words... hahaha...

Before I sleep, or whenever I can, I will say I LOVE YOU to my boys, and forced them to say the same to me... (terrible mom)

When I pick my boy from babysitter, I'll ask him, "Got miss mommy?" He'll reply, "I MISS YOU" and it sounds so so sweet!

When I look at myself in the mirror and discover a huge pimple, sorry, I gotta be rude and say, "I HATE YOU!" hahaha (pimples pun kena marah, kesiannya...)

We normally say, "THANKS A LOT" when someone helped us. But I just love to say in cantonese, "NG-KOI-SAI" which sounds 'cute'... just pro-long the last word = NG-KOI-SAAAAIII....

This is what I say to my colleagues, general statement, "SEE YOU TOMORROW" and sometimes will follow with "I LOVE YOU" to those whom I care and really want to see her tomorrow hahaha

Do you sometimes just has no topic to talk to someone whom you know, and you meet on the street, example, colleagues whom you seldom talk to, or an pasar-aunty that you wish you don't see her? Normally, we'll smile a little and if really pass by side-by-side, what do we say? hahaha, just say, "HOW ARE YOU?" so fake, hehehe... or they sometimes ask me, "WHERE YOU GOING?" aiyo, where else, early in the morning 8am, I go see movies meh? amboi! Sometimes, out of nothing to ask them, I also ask the same question, better than got nothing to say.. life is sometimes quite terrifying hoh...

But it's different if you are bumping into someone that you always have topic with, I normally say, "JOM, yam cha!" hahaha, just love to gossip!

When someone is waiting for us, we feels kan-chiong a bit, sometimes, rush until lipstick pun lupa pakai, even forget to comb our hair... but when it's turn for us to wait for people, we'll say, "Fai-tit-la" hahaha... but I really hate those are not punctual, no respect to other people's time.. apa la!

When I can't say "NO" sometimes, to people silly requests, I'll jokingly say, "Chi Sin ar" hehehe, auto-NO. You can try "Sot-jor-ah" - it gives an impression of saying NO NO NO too!

I still remember when I was in college, I speak too much of foul languages. Until today, I still say a few words, but not all the time. I can't say to my kids, I can't say to my mom, I can't say to my boss... I just try to say to my close-colleagues and some bad-mouth friends... my favourite is "T-Nia-Sing" hahaha... really bad-mouth, also I like to say, "Soh-hai" how yucky I am... at least I am honest, I do know a few to release stress! hehehe!

I find it weird when people ask, "Are You OK?" - what answer to reply. If I reply, I am Ok, means he/she thinks too much. Maybe we should try, "Oh, I think I am not really ok..." to make him/her feels bad because can't help hahahaha... how great to tease people this way!

My youngest boy, there was one time. He screamed, "kau-meang-ar", and my mom was in the living room. She didn't hear, and he screamed again and again in the bedroom. His cute little leg was trapped under the bed with his small pillow hahaha, how cute! I love to use "kau-meang-ar" when I am lost, when people do 'stupid things' and yet they think they are right... KAU-MEANG-AR...

In the corporate world, people tend to shoe polish, tend to fake, tend to pretend. I really NO EYE SEE!

CHEERS, now it's your turn to list out your own 3-word words and have fun out of them!

NINE WORDS WOMEN USE

(1) Fine:This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes:If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3) Nothing:This is the calm before the storm. This means something and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

(4) Go Ahead:This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

(7) Thanks:A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome'; that will bring on a 'whatever').

(8) Whatever:Is a woman's way of saying sc*ewYOU!

(9) Don't worry about it, I got it:Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.

AS AN EMPLOYEE...

Being an employee is fun! Other than $$$, being happy at work is important.

Cool to see this article... read it!

* the biggest motivation is salary (no one says their salary is high hahaha)

* the unluckiest thing is promotion without salary adjustment (that's consolation when Company cannot pay, and they want to make you feel good)

* the most "shiok" thing is you don't work anyhow also get pay increment (hehehe, I wished!)

* the greatest talent is "carry big stuff" (means you've to buy shoe polish, then you've to 'satay' your bosses lo - example, even he has a bad haircut, also must pretend say,"Wah boss you so leangjai jor geh.. wow")

* the greatest mistake is to argue with your boss (depends on how to argue, when you argue, they thought you are teaching them how to work - bad one, all bosses think that their ideas are the best!)

* the most demoralising thing is to receive salary late (hmm... no comment, *touch wood* never happened)

* the most pitiful thing is you did not get your salary and your boss ran away (hahaha, that's why choose a good reputable company to work with)

* the happiest thing is you become your boss' boss .. wahahahaha!!! - can't believe it!

* the cleverest thing is you are late but boss doesn't know (Yes, I somehow agree)

* the stupidest thing is you publicly say that you are lazy - hahaha... I normally say, "Wow, today seems cozy" never say lazy la aiyo!

* the most common thing is - the boss says something but means another (that's usual, when they say "GOOD JOB, BUT..." - why the hell got "BUT"?)

* the proudest thing is you sack your boss

* the most "rugi" thing is you work hard but your colleague takes the credit (hahaha, what to do... fated sometimes)

* the most dangerous thing is to become a "two-headed" snake (Can I learn?)

* the biggest satisfaction - sending e-mail like this during office hours!! heheheheheheheh.... what a wonderful world!

LOVE OUR OLD FOLKS

I used to admire those old folks who always hold hands when they cross the road. The feeling is like they still treasure each other and take care of each other.

I saw an old couple sharing a bowl of claypot rice. So sweet, they started to feed each other and smile. Not much of a conversation, they just need a companion, and they have each other.

Most of the young people now are busy taking care of their own-selves. It could be money that attracts their needs, but same time, to earn more money, it takes up more of your time. People used to say, "NO MONEY, NO TALK". Therefore, most of us choose money, instead of time for our old folks at home.

We also think that once week once is enough for them. Life has become demanding, and we tend to forget some values.

Is eating dinner with our old folks a few times a week, consider as time consuming?

Is calling them everyday consider as a waste of money?

Believe it or not, if you spend only 10mins with your parents or grandparents, they will remember for at least a week. Most of the time we are not in the house, but if we can hold their hands, talking to them, for just 10mins a week (I hope it's a day), they will remember us, and they will be happy and think of us.

It's never difficult to make old people happy. Some old people nags, therefore, no one wants to talk to them and don't even want to stay with them. At times, we will say, "She deserves it! No one stays with her, she nags non-stop". But think twice. Why is she nagging? Normally it's for our own good. But I somehow agree, some nags more than normal hahaha!

Let's be patient, and appreciate that they are still around with us.

My grandpa is almost 90 years old, and grandma is 78. I am glad that they are around. It completes the family as a whole. They had been through thick and thin and now leading to another level of life, which is living in misery, worrying about their own health. I can totally understand how they feel. Lonely, and insecure at times. Everyone gets old, just the matter of time. But as we grow older, we think more although we are wiser. We think about our children, our family members, and what to do to pass the days.

Imagine what a 78 & 90 year old can do ? Wake up, shower, breakfast, read newspapers, watch television, lunch, afternoon nap, watch tv again, dinner and time to sleep. In between, can we just play a small part of calling them?
Most people think that old people having good lives as they don't have to work.

Yes, somehow I agree they should enjoy life, but... if you can think again, this is totally boring! They can't afford to see their friends like us, how many friends they will have ? If they are healthier and joining those association or clubs, maybe they do have some friends.

Old people can't do much of sports, simple hand claps and swinging their hands and legs are their exercise. Some gardens have tai-chi or qi-gong, but not all are fit to join these activities.

Maybe you think of mahjung or karaoke... I like both hahaha! Let's play a small part of making old people around us happy, start with our own grandparents and parents. CHEERS!
